Enemies of Trust in Organizations
How might leaders thrive in managing distributed teams and complex systems?
As I read through books and blog posts on this topic to help fellow leaders who are suddenly thrown into virtual organizations and distributed teams, I found a good read in one of the chapters of a 2008 book which still seems highly relevant today.
Virtual or not, a foundation of good leadership is trust.
What are the easiest ways to erode trust (or not earn it)? Here’s a summary of the enemies of trust that you, as a leader, may want to consider when working with your teams.
As you go through the list, consider how you might decrease the chances of these ‘enemies’ afflicting your organization. There is an increased challenge looking into these given a distributed, virtual team setting so you need to be more creative when looking for the signs.
